How To Remove Facebook Timeline

Last 2010, I’ve shared a quick tutorial on how to go back to your old facebook profile layout. Unfortunately, that quick guide doesn’t work anymore. Facebook has fixed it and they’ve even created a new profile layout called “Facebook Timeline”. If you don’t like Facebook Timeline and you wish to remove it, then this quick and easy tutorial is for you.

When Facebook Timeline was implemented, there are those who like it, and of course there are also those who don’t. To those who want to remove facebook timeline and go back to the old profile layout, I’ll share to you this very easy solution to remove it. I’ve tested it myself and it really works. So without further adieu, let’s get it on!

Works on:

• Mozilla Firefox
• Google Chrome
• Internet Explorer

Advantages:

• Be able to go back to your old facebook profile layout
• Remove Facebook Timeline
• Easily load and unload Facebook Timeline with just a single click

Disadvantages:

• Requires you to install the extension / add-on for your browser
• Only works on the computer where you use and  installed the extension / add-on. Others will still see the Facebook Timeline (who cares? we only want it on our side)

Heads up!

I’m using Google Chrome for this tutorial. Hence, the screenshots taken are from Google Chrome Interface. Whether you’re using Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer the steps below will still work.

Step 1:

Open or run your favorite browser and go to this website. (screenshot below)

Step 2:

Scroll down on that website until you reach the download section. Once there, click the icon of your favorite browser. Mine is Google Chrome so I clicked it. (screenshot below). Follow step 3 after you have clicked it.

Step 3:

Just after you clicked the icon of your favorite browser, your browser will ask if you want to install the extension (see screenshot), click Continue.

After clicking Continue, Confirm New Extension window will appear (see screenshot), click Add.

 

Step 4:

After you clicked the Add button, your will see the extension icon (see screenshot). You can click on that icon to see its status.

Step 5:

Close Google Chrome and Open it again.

Now login to your Facebook account, load up your profile, if you’re still seeing the Facebook Timeline layout, click the icon that you see on step 4 and then click the red “X” icon, it will change to green check icon.

Now hit F5 to refresh your browser. And VIOLA! Congratulations you have removed the Facebook timeline layout and loaded the old one.
